How it Started

I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest area of Spokane, Washington. Even as a little girl, you could always find me singing, humming, or making up my own a cappella songs. At the tender age of 12, my "aha" moment came when I was watching a movie where the music artist Taylor Swift made a guest appearance and performed one of her original songs on the guitar. I was immediately inspired, and decided to start learning guitar so that I could have a way to write and perform my own music, too. After learning my first guitar chord from my older brother, I went into my bedroom and wrote a song with the goal of encouraging anyone who heard it. Over a decade later and the songs have not stopped coming, nor has my goal of encouraging others - what a journey it's been so far!
